Thousands of football fans in Kisumu and Nairobi got closer to English football’s most coveted prize as Guinness brought the iconic Premier League Trophy to Kenya through its Guinness Matchday experience.
The events, held on Friday, October 16, in Kisumu and Sunday, October 17, in Nairobi, brought together passionate supporters for live Premier League screenings, trophy photo opportunities, music and entertainment.
Guinness, the official beer of the Premier League, hosted the Kisumu experience at Dondez and Berlin Lounge before taking the celebrations to Nairobi. For many fans, the highlight was the opportunity to see the trophy up close and take photographs with the silverware awarded to the champions of England’s top-flight football competition.

The tour transformed the venues into vibrant football destinations, with large screens and quality sound systems bringing fans closer to the action. Supporters followed an exciting weekend of matches, including Chelsea’s 2–0 victory over Everton, Liverpool’s 2–1 win against Brentford and Manchester City’s 3–2 triumph over Ipswich.
Arsenal and Fulham also recorded 1–0 wins against Nottingham Forest and Hull, respectively, while Aston Villa defeated Newcastle 1–0. The results fuelled lively reactions among supporters, underlining the excitement and unpredictability that make the Premier League popular among Kenyan audiences.
Beyond the matches, the tour brought together official fan clubs supporting Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City. The gatherings offered supporters an opportunity to celebrate their teams, connect with fellow fans and share memorable moments around their love of football.
The experience extended beyond the pitch, with performances by Kenyan entertainers Khaligraph Jones, Wyre, DJ Joe Mfalme and Mista C keeping the energy high throughout the celebrations.

Guinness Brand Manager Joy Murugi said bringing the trophy to Kenya gave more supporters an opportunity to connect with the competition and enjoy memorable experiences through the brand’s Premier League partnership.
“We are thrilled to bring the Premier League trophy back to Kenya, offering even more fans the opportunity to get extra close to football’s ultimate prize. As the Official Beer of the Premier League, our partnership allows us to create these once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our consumers through Guinness Matchday,” Murugi said.
She added that the tour set the tone for the new Premier League season, with Guinness planning more Matchday experiences for Kenyan fans in the months ahead.
By combining trophy displays, live match screenings, fan-club gatherings and live entertainment, the Guinness Matchday tour brought supporters together across Kisumu and Nairobi, turning their shared passion for football into a collective celebration.
Guinness thanked fans who attended the events, reaffirming its commitment to delivering engaging football experiences to Kenyan supporters throughout the Premier League season.
