Federal Express Corporation, the world’s largest express transportation company, and Feed the Children have launched the Clean Futures Alliance in Kenya, supporting improved Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) outcomes for children in Kajiado County.
The initiative, delivered under the FedEx Cares program, is supporting Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) outcomes for 2,400 school-aged children and adolescents in Bisil. Volunteers spent the day preparing hygiene kits and leading education sessions designed to help students build healthier daily habits.
“At FedEx, our purpose goes beyond moving packages it is about connecting people and communities to the resources they need to thrive,” said Nelson Teixeira, managing director, Operations, Sub-Saharan Africa at FedEx. “Through the Clean Futures Alliance, our team members are bringing that commitment to life by supporting children and families in Kenya and creating meaningful impact where we live and work.”
WASH education sessions took place at Inkati and Noontoto primary schools, where FedEx volunteers worked directly with students, handing out kits and walking them through everyday hygiene practices.
Emily Callahan, president and CEO of Feed the Children, praised the volunteer-driven approach. “Access to hygiene supports children’s health, confidence and ability to stay engaged in school. Our continued collaboration with FedEx is helping expand community-driven solutions that enable children and families to build healthier futures,” she said.
The rollout builds on years of partnership between FedEx and Feed the Children, with both organizations pointing to volunteerism as central to their shared community impact work in Kenya.
