Urysia Expands Operations in Kenya with Jeep and Citroën Launch

Urysia Limited has officially added Jeep and Citroën to its automotive portfolio, transforming the company from a single-brand Peugeot dealership into a multi-brand operation.

The launch, held today at Urysia’s Nairobi showroom expands the company’s product range and after-sales capabilities.

The expansion aligns with global developments in the automotive sector, particularly the formation of Stellantis through the merger of PSA Groupe and FCA. Through this partnership, Urysia gains access to advanced vehicle technologies, broader product offerings, and established global brands.

The new portfolio includes Jeep, known for its off-road 4×4 models; Citroën, which focuses on comfort-oriented and efficient urban vehicles; and Peugeot, which remains a key player in the local SUV and sedan segments. This combination allows Urysia to serve a wider range of market segments, including private buyers, fleet operators, SMEs, and ride-hailing companies.

Urysia Managing Director, Claude Mwende, said the expansion reflects a strategic response to changing consumer needs.

“Customers require flexibility, reliability, and choice. Integrating Peugeot, Jeep, and Citroën under one dealership enables us to offer a comprehensive product range supported by consistent service and after-sales support,” Mwende stated.

The company has enhanced its after-sales operations with fully equipped service centres in Nairobi, a nationwide network of partner workshops, and mobile service units. Additional services include flexible financing options, corporate leasing, structured fleet management, and concierge-style support such as vehicle delivery and priority servicing.

These improvements are designed to reduce vehicle downtime and ensure consistent service quality across all three brands.

Alignment with Market Trends

The launch positions Urysia to respond to ongoing trends in Kenya’s automotive sector, including the rising demand for SUVs, pickups, and urban mobility solutions. It also supports Kenya’s gradual adoption of electric vehicles, leveraging Peugeot’s EV-ready platforms and Stellantis’ global technology pipeline.

The showroom now features models such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Gladiator; Citroën C3, C3 Aircross, and C5 Aircross; and Peugeot’s full SUV and sedan lineup.

The event was attended by Principal Secretary for Trade, Regina Ombam, along with representatives from the US and French embassies, corporate fleet buyers, and financial partners.

Ombam noted that Urysia’s multi-brand expansion reflects a practical response to consumer demand and contributes to Kenya’s industrial growth agenda.

The company aims to strengthen its position in Kenya’s growing automotive market while supporting the country’s shift toward modern mobility solutions, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
