Nairobi’s leading hospitality and cocktail enthusiasts were treated to a premium mixology experience recently as Gilbey’s Gin curated an exclusive masterclass at Geco Café, transforming the venue into ‘The Gin Room.’

In partnership with Rusty Nail Bar, this event brought together influencers, cocktail aficionados, and Gilbey’s dedicated community for an evening of skills, creativity, and connection.

Led by expert mixologists from Rusty Nail, attendees engaged in hands-on training designed to sharpen professional bartending techniques and inspire home mixology mastery.

The session highlighted the artistry behind crafting exquisite cocktails, aligning with Nairobi’s fast-growing reputation as a vibrant hub for innovative drinking culture.

Signature drinks crafted during the event included:

  • The Roxy – an energetic blend of Gilbey’s Dry Gin, Raspberry Pink Peppercorn Syrup, and Lemon Juice, perfect for lively social moments.
  • The Gold Standard – a sophisticated floral cocktail featuring Gilbey’s Dry Gin, Elderflower-Thyme Shrub, Passion Juice, Lemon Juice, and soda to elevate any gathering.
  • Uncle Tommy – a rich, fruity libation mixing Gilbey’s Dry Gin, Simple Syrup, Lemon Juice, and Crème de Cassis for a deeper, more intimate experience.

The evening climaxed with a spirited cocktail contest, where winners received exclusive Gilbey’s merchandise, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to fostering talent and innovation within Nairobi’s cocktail scene.

Participants left equipped with practical skills to enhance their professional careers, elevate their home bartending, and deepen their appreciation for gin’s versatility.

Zipporah Ndung’u, Senior Brand Manager for Gilbey’s, reflected on the event’s success: “The Gin Room experience encapsulated Gilbey’s spirit—bringing people together through creativity and craftsmanship. Partnering with Rusty Nail allowed us to provide a fun, interactive environment where our community could experiment, learn, and celebrate the art of mixology.”

She added, “We’re excited to continue creating opportunities that support Nairobi’s rising hospitality industry and inspire people to stir, shake, and share memorable moments.”

This masterclass underscores Gilbey’s ongoing dedication to empowering Nairobi’s cocktail community, blending skill development with brand engagement to unlock everyday moments of joy and connection.
