Future of Health (FOH) has announced a new global scholarship initiative aimed at broadening its reach into underserved healthcare regions, a move set to strengthen the inclusivity of global health policy discussions.
The FOH Global Scholarship will fund membership for healthcare institutions in low- and middle-income countries, enabling them to participate directly in the organization’s research, expert workgroups, and high-level engagements.
The initiative is designed to ensure that perspectives from regions often left out of global health discourse are fully integrated into decision-making processes.
Among the inaugural beneficiaries are Pakistan’s Aria Institute of Medical Sciences and M.P. Shah Hospital, reflecting FOH’s strategic focus on Africa and Asia, regions where healthcare systems face both significant challenges and rapid transformation.
FOH brings together over 50 senior leaders from healthcare systems, government, academia, and industry across 14 countries.
Its work focuses on translating shared international experiences into evidence-based recommendations that shape healthcare delivery and policy worldwide. With the introduction of the scholarship, the organization is taking deliberate steps to ensure its research reflects a more comprehensive global perspective.
“Global healthcare challenges require insights from diverse health systems,” said co-chairmen Eyal Zimlichman and Chip Kahn. They noted that expanding participation to underserved regions will enhance the depth and relevance of FOH’s work.
In East Africa, M.P. Shah Hospital continues to play a key role in advancing healthcare delivery. Led by CEO Toseef Din, the hospital has strengthened its position as a leading private, non-profit tertiary facility, investing in specialized services, technology, and patient-centered care.
Through the scholarship, participating institutions will contribute to FOH’s annual research program, peer-reviewed publications, and global summits. The initiative also aims to foster collaboration between healthcare leaders across different regions, encouraging knowledge exchange and the development of more resilient health systems.
The launch comes at a time when many of the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges—ranging from access and affordability to infrastructure gaps—are most acute in underserved regions. By bringing these realities into the global conversation, FOH seeks to drive more inclusive and effective policy solutions.
The scholarship is open to philanthropic partners, with FOH committing to match contributions annually. The organization maintains that all funding will remain independent of its governance and research priorities.
As FOH expands its global footprint, the new scholarship marks a significant step toward ensuring that healthcare leaders from underserved regions are not only represented, but actively shaping the future of global health policy.
