Bolt Food has expanded its local meal delivery network to provide variety and affordable Iftar meals, making it easier for customers to break their fast with their favorite dishes as the holy month of Ramadan begins and with increased demand for meal deliveries during the evening hours.

To make Ramadan even more special, Bolt Food has partnered with over 250 restaurants across Nairobi, curating exclusive Ramadan menus featuring traditional favorites such as Biryani, Kebab, Bhajia, Samosas, Grilled Meats, and Fresh Juices.

Participating restaurants include Pizza Inn, Mezza, Shabz Bar-B-Que, ChopIt Express, Chowpaty, Artcaffe, Al-Yusra Restaurant, and Papparoti Kenya.

Bolt Food also offers discounted meal deals, with 25 per cent to 50 per cent off promotions, making it even more convenient for customers to access quality meals at affordable prices.

“As Ramadan begins, we have previously seen an influx in orders, especially in areas such as Eastleigh and Mathare, Parklands, Nyali, and South B  and Imara Daima, in the evening.

This has led us to add over 200 more restaurants with a variety of Iftar cuisine to cater to this demand.

Recognising the importance of punctuality for Iftar, we are committed to ensuring that meals are delivered within 30-45 minutes of ordering.

Additionally, select restaurants will operate 24/7 to accommodate those who prefer to order after 10 PM,” said Bolt Food General Manager Edgar Kitur.

In 2024, Bolt Food recorded remarkable growth in key zones with high Muslim populations, reflecting the platform’s commitment to catering to the unique needs of its users during Ramadan.

Eastleigh and Mathare led the way with a 62 per cent increase in delivered orders. At the same time, Parklands saw a 59 per cent increase in delivered orders, and South B and Imara Daima recorded a 48 per cent rise in deliveries —a testament to the growing demand for halal meals during the season.

Data insights show that food delivery services are becoming increasingly popular in Nairobi. In 2023, around 9.3 per cent of Kenyans opted for online food and grocery shopping, a figure expected to rise to 16.7 per cent by 2027.

With the addition of Bolt Market to the platform, customers can now order groceries and essential items from morning until late at night, with the convenience of scheduling deliveries in advance.

“Affordability remains a key focus for Bolt Market, with the platform offering free delivery within a 3-kilometer radius and discounts of up to 80 per cent during select promotional periods.

Our goal is to make this season more convenient while empowering small businesses to thrive,” added Kitur.

In Mombasa, Bamburi Nyali experienced a staggering 542 per cent increase in delivered orders, reinforcing Bolt Food’s growing presence along the coast during this significant period.

By partnering with top restaurants, offering exclusive Ramadan promotions, and ensuring affordability, Bolt Food is committed to making Iftar stress-free for Nairobi residents this Ramadan.

Customers can access these offers and place their orders via the Bolt Food app on iOS and Android.
