African School of Governance To Train Africa’s Next Generation of Leaders

The African School of Governance (ASG), the continent’s newest and most ambitious institution dedicated to shaping the next generation of African leaders, has concluded a high-profile presidential tour across five major cities, igniting enthusiasm among policymakers, academics, and aspiring changemakers.

Led by ASG President Professor Kingsley Moghalu, the tour made stops in Nairobi, Lagos, Cairo, Maputo, and Abidjan, drawing significant attention from government officials, development partners, and mid-career professionals eager to redefine governance on Africa’s terms.

“The question won’t be what you studied or where. In ten years, the question will be, have you joined ASG?” declared Professor Moghalu at a governance summit in Nairobi, a rallying cry that resonated throughout the tour.

Unlike traditional graduate programs, ASG’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) is designed to be unapologetically African in context, content, and ambition. Co-created with global and African thought leaders, the curriculum emphasizes ethical, purpose-driven leadership, equipping students with tools not just to govern effectively but to reimagine governance altogether.

“Africa’s governance challenges won’t be solved by imported frameworks. We’re creating something new, designed by Africa, for Africa,” said Moghalu. “ASG is the ticket for leaders ready to make a real impact.”

ASG aims to be more than an academic institution—it’s a launchpad for ethical, bold, and pragmatic leadership. Through immersive case studies, executive training programs, and direct engagement with policymakers and private sector leaders, the school is fostering a new wave of African leadership.

With student recruitment for its inaugural cohort ending in July, ASG is targeting 40–50 mid-career professionals aged 25 to 50. Tuition is set at $15,000 per year, with generous scholarships available to ensure accessibility across the continent.

ASG’s bold vision extends beyond its MPA program. By 2027, the institution plans to expand into corporate governance and public finance, solidifying its role as a catalyst for Africa’s transformation.

Leading this initiative is Professor Kingsley Moghalu, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and a prominent voice on African development. His leadership embodies ASG’s mission: to cultivate enlightened leaders who can drive Africa’s progress through effective governance and pragmatic policies.

“This is the beginning of something powerful—a leadership renaissance,” concluded Moghalu. “ASG is where the future of African governance begins.”

For those ready to join ASG’s historic first class and help shape Africa’s future, applications are open at www.asg.ac.
