SportPesa has launched a Kshs. 120 million multi-sport sponsorship, targeting boxing, motorsports, and rugby, reinforcing its commitment to the growth and sustainability of Kenyan sport.
The investment aims to strengthen both grassroots and elite levels, creating structured pathways for athletes while supporting local sports ecosystems.
“Kenya has exceptional sporting talent across disciplines, but talent alone is not enough,” said SportPesa Chief Commercial Officer Jason Gibson. “Sustainable success requires investment, structure, and belief. This sponsorship is about backing Kenyan athletes, supporting local systems, and ensuring sport can thrive as a career, not just a passion.”
SportPesa continues its partnership with Ultra Fight Series (UFS) through the Boxing-Rising Stars initiative, investing Kshs. 40 million to develop local boxing talent and restore Kenya’s continental prominence.
“This partnership is about rebuilding belief in Kenyan boxing,” said UFS promoter Maurice Odera. “With SportPesa’s support, we can develop fighters properly and give them a real chance to compete internationally.”
As primary sponsor of Kenya’s 7s national team, Shujaa, SportPesa is also contributing Kshs. 40 million to support the Kenya Rugby Union in hosting a world-class HSBC SVNS2 tournament on February 14–15.
“This investment reflects the everyday work behind Kenyan rugby — the training, players, and pathways,” said KRU Chairperson Harriet Okatch. “Working with corporates like SportPesa confirms we are ready to host the SVNS2 tournament.”
SportPesa has extended its partnership with six-time Kenya National Rally Champion Leonardo Varese ahead of the 2026 WRC Safari Rally Kenya. The Kshs. 40 million sponsorship supports both Varese and his son, nurturing emerging talent through the Tujiamini program.
“Rallying has given my family everything. To see my son supported to chase the same dream is something I don’t take lightly,” Varese said.
SportPesa’s investment builds on its long history of supporting Kenyan sport, including a Kshs. 1.12 billion investment in the SportPesa Premier League and sponsorship of historic clubs such as Gor Mahia FC, Shabana FC, and Murang’a SEAL.
On the global stage, the brand made history in 2019 as the first African firm to sponsor a Formula 1 team, SportPesa Racing Point.
“Our journey in sport has always been intentional, focused on building meaningful partnerships, credible platforms, and lasting impact,” Gibson concluded.
