BIC East Africa and CFK Africa have concluded the fifth edition of their joint “Buy Me and BIC Will Donate a Pen” initiative, distributing 150,000 writing tools to students in Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, and Kajiado.

The program, which addresses educational resource gaps in underserved communities, has donated 1.5 million pens since its launch. It aligns with BIC’s global commitment to enhance learning conditions for 250 million students by 2025.

Paloma Lengema, General Manager at BIC East Africa, emphasized the initiative’s impact indicating that as a responsible corporate citizen, they remain committed to improving learning conditions for students in the communities that they operate in.

“Our flagship initiative has been running in Kenya for over five years, and we continue to witness the impact it has on students every day. We are fortunate to collaborate with like-minded organizations such as CFK Africa to help students get a step closer to a better learning environment.”

Jeffrey Okoro, Executive Director at CFK Africa, highlighted the partnership’s longevity and stated that they are proud to have partnered with BIC for the third year, impacting over a million students.

Collaborating with organizations that share the same goals and values is fundamental to building our communities and empowering future generations.

The initiative forms part of BIC’s broader sustainability program, Writing the Future Together.

Another initiative under this framework, Express Myself with My BIC Pen—renamed from My Words, My Story, My BIC Pen in 2020—has reached approximately 50,000 students, alongside hundreds of schools and educators, since its launch.
