SportPesa brought celebration and excitement to Bomet County after unveiling three jackpot winners during a community event that also featured an exhibition football match aimed at promoting grassroots sports development. The company awarded more than Ksh 40 million in total winnings as part of its ongoing community engagement and responsible gaming initiatives.
Leading the winners was Patrick Chepkwony from Konoin, Bomet County, a Mathematics and Physics teacher based in Kericho. He walked away with Ksh 18.6 million after correctly predicting all 13 matches in the Mega Jackpot Pro.
A long-time user of SportPesa, Chepkwony said he has consistently relied on match analysis tools, including multiple betting platforms and SportPesa’s SP Score feature, to guide his selections. Inspired by former Mega Jackpot winner Cosmos Korir from the same wider region, who previously won over Ksh 200 million, he credited discipline and probability-based decision-making for his success.
He shared the news of his win while still at school, informing his Head of Department immediately after confirmation. Chepkwony plans to invest part of the winnings in dairy farming and construction of a family home.
The second winner, Stephen Odhiambo from Siaya County, a Nairobi-based mechanic working in Kariokor, won over Ksh 17.3 million after correctly predicting all 13 Midweek Jackpot matches. Describing himself as a casual bettor, he said he places his selections and waits patiently for results. He intends to expand his garage business and improve his family’s welfare, including education for his children.
The third winner, Pius Kipsang, a surveyor from Nandi County, received a Ksh 5.2 million bonus after missing just one selection in the 17-match Mega Jackpot. He said part of the money will go toward improving his family’s living standards.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, SportPesa Public Relations and Advertising Executive Deborah Chipkirui Maina congratulated the winners and emphasized the importance of responsible betting.
“Betting should strictly remain a form of entertainment and should never involve rent, school fees, or food money. We also encourage responsible gaming and strictly discourage underage betting,” she said.
The event also featured a community exhibition match between Chaptalal FC, supported under Tujiamini—SportPesa’s CSR initiative—and Magengi FC, a grassroots team from Merigi, Bomet County.
Chaptalal FC emerged victorious, walking away with Ksh 30,000, two footballs, and a full kit, while the runners-up received Ksh 20,000 and a full set of kits.
The event underscored SportPesa’s continued investment in community sports, youth empowerment, and local talent development beyond gaming.
