Kenya is setting the pace for Africa’s digital resilience as Cyber Week Africa 2025 gets underway under the theme “Compliance by Design: Securing Africa’s Digital Future.”
The week-long event brings together government leaders, private sector innovators, and cybersecurity experts to shape the continent’s approach to digital security and governance.

Hosted by the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, NC4, CyberPro Global, and Huawei, the conference signals a growing commitment to securing Africa’s digital transformation through collaboration and capacity building.
In his keynote, ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo Gitau emphasized that cybersecurity is now integral to national sovereignty and economic growth.
“Cybersecurity is not just technical, it’s strategic. ‘Compliance by Design’ means embedding security and accountability into every digital system from day one,” he said.
Private sector partners are also playing their part. Huawei, a key conference partner, continues to invest in cybersecurity training and innovation, including the graduation of 40 government officers from an advanced network security program.
KSG’s Prof. Nura Mohamed highlighted the establishment of the Regional Center of Competence for Digital Skilling and Artificial Intelligence, aimed at empowering public institutions with modern digital capabilities.

Adding an international voice, Israeli Ambassador Gideon Behar praised Kenya’s leadership and reaffirmed Israel’s support for regional cybersecurity cooperation.
As cyber threats evolve, Kenya’s multi-sector collaboration is proving that the future of cybersecurity in Africa depends not only on technology but on partnership, preparedness, and shared vision.
