betPawa has launched a KSh 6.7 million grassroots football support initiative that will benefit at least 575 players from 25 teams across Kenya through the provision of playing kits and training equipment.

The programme targets both men’s and women’s teams and is aimed at improving access to quality sports gear for community clubs that often face financial and logistical challenges.

Players under the initiative will receive complete kits comprising jerseys, shorts, and socks, while teams have also been supplied with match balls, training bibs, and goalkeeper gloves to support training and competition.

A total of 100 match balls, 575 training bibs, and 75 pairs of goalkeeper gloves have been distributed as part of the sponsorship package.

The initiative is expected to ease the burden on local clubs that continue to rely on community fundraising and donations to acquire essential football equipment and sustain their operations.

Among the teams benefiting from the programme are Maungu All Stars FC, Majengo FC, Mwendo FC, Kisii Wazee FC, Kapkorech Starlet, St Josephus Nakuru, Maringo United, Masimba Queens, Lugusi FC, Youngboys FC, Livewire FC, Panga FC, Black Stallion FC, UNESCO FC, Kangeta Youth FC, Kangami FC, Gategi Ladies, HCE FC, Falcon Queens, Arrows of Kajembe Starlets, Atletico Kangemi SC, Kibagare Girls FC, Kick It Kenya FC, Shimanzi FC, and Nyanturago Town Boys FC.

Speaking on the initiative, Borah Ndanyungu said the programme seeks to recognise and support football talent emerging from local communities across the country.

“Because talent is everywhere in Kenya. You see it in community fields, in local leagues, in the quiet determination of players who show up every week, often with very little, but with everything to give,” she said.

The company noted that access to standardised playing and training equipment is expected to improve team organisation, boost morale, and enhance preparedness during competitions.

Women’s football teams make up a significant portion of the beneficiaries, reinforcing betPawa’s commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities in sports. Through its Locker Room Bonus programme, the company has maintained equal bonus payments for both men’s and women’s teams following victories.

The sponsorship adds to growing efforts by corporate organisations to support grassroots football structures and nurture talent at the community level, where many young players begin their sporting journeys.
