  • KQ Partners with the KRU For the 27th Safari Sevens Rugby Tournament;

 Kenya Airways (KQ) has signed a new partnership with the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) as the official airline partner of the 27th edition of the Safari Sevens rugby tournament.

The partnership, offered in kind, aims to fuel the continued growth of Kenyan rugby by uplifting local talent and empowering local sports champions.

Speaking during the partnership launch yesterday, Kenya Airways, Marketing Manager, Europe, MEGI Asia, WA & Americas Clinton Wambua mentioned the airline’s involvement in rugby aligns with its purpose of connecting people, places, and possibilities.

“Over the years, the Safari Sevens has become a signature event in Kenya’s sporting calendar. It’s a celebration of teamwork, resilience, and national pride.

These are the same values that define our journey as Kenya Airways,” Mr Clinton added.

This announcement comes just months after Kenya Airways partnered with the Kenya Men’s 15s national team during their crucial qualifying season.

This continued partnership reflects the airlines belief in the of the team’s potential and in sports influence on Kenya’s profile in world rugby.

The Kenyan rugby has thrived over the years, firmly cementing Kenya’s position in the top tier of the Sevens World Series in Africa.

Through this partnership, Kenya Airways highlights the crucial role of corporate sponsorship in sustaining that growth, empowering local athletes and elevating Kenya’s presence on the global stage.
