Jumba, Africa’s leading digital marketplace for construction materials, has launched the Jumba App which is a new platform designed to simplify the way builders, developers, and homeowners source and purchase materials.
For years, Kenya’s construction industry has struggled with inconsistent pricing, unreliable suppliers, and inefficient delivery systems.
The Jumba App aims to solve these challenges by offering transparent pricing, verified suppliers, and dependable delivery all from one easy-to-use digital platform.
“Our mission is simple: to make building easy,” said Kagure Wamunyu, CEO and Co-Founder of Jumba.
“Whether you’re a developer managing several projects, a homeowner building your first house, or a Kenyan in the diaspora, Jumba gives you confidence that what you order is what you get on time and at the right price.”
Simplifying Building Through Technology.
The app introduces a new level of convenience to construction sourcing through:
Transparent Pricing: Real-time price comparisons across verified suppliers eliminate guesswork and overcharging.
All-in-One Platform: Access everything from structural materials to finishing products in one place.
Reliable Delivery: Integrated logistics ensure materials arrive as scheduled, reducing costly project delays.
Ease of Access: Builders can order materials anytime, anywhere, through their smartphones.
Bringing the Industry Together.
The launch event at the Serena Hotel brought together major industry players, government representatives, and suppliers such as Crown Paints, Tuff Steel, Tononoka, Jumbo Steel, Comply Industries, Abyssinia, Mzito, National Cement, Dewalt, Blue Nile, and Bamburi.
The app is currently available within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area, with expansion plans across all 47 counties.
“The Jumba App is not just another tech product it’s a movement to transform how Africa builds,” Wamunyu added. “Our goal is to ensure every builder, big or small, can access affordable, high-quality materials with full transparency.”
A Digital Future for Construction.
As mobile technology continues to reshape commerce, the Jumba App marks a critical step toward digitising construction sourcing. It provides a smarter, more efficient alternative to the traditional, time-consuming process of calling or visiting multiple suppliers.
By streamlining procurement and guaranteeing transparency, Jumba is empowering builders, improving project efficiency, and redefining the construction supply chain for a digital era.
